Dan Lawlis is a comic book artist whose work was most prominent in the eighties and nineties. As well as working on superhero comic books such as X-Men, Cloak And Dagger, Shadowmasters, Barb Wire and Spider-Man, he also drew a number of Clive Barker comics, namely Nightbreed and Book Of The Damned.
It now looks like he’s moved to Book Of The Saved instead.
Orange Peel 3 is a Christian evangelical science fiction/fantasy parallel set on the planet GoddEarth overrun by many species and enslaved with a Godless dictatorship that has turned the world against itself. There are straw men and caricatures everywhere and the alien races help exacerbate that, most prominently in a Pro Life rally where the participants all have fanged teeth – and just before the protagonist is visited by an angelic aborted alien fetus.
Yes, there’s a fair bit of that kind of thing.
But artistically, it’s an interesting look for Lews, with a style seemingly affected by the likes of Neal Adams and Alan Davis via Joe Madueria, creating very pleasing superheroic alien figures, albeit a tad on the didactic side.

Bem como trabalhando em quadrinhos de super-heróis, como X-Men, Manto e Adaga, Sombra  e Homem-Aranha,ele também desenhou uma série de HQ’S do Clive Barker, como  as Nightbreed e Book Of The Damned.
Agora parece que ele está mudando  para Livro dos Salmos .
Orange Peel 3 é um fiicção científica ,cristã envangelica em mundo  paralelo do planeta GoddEarth com muitas espécies  escravizadas em uma ditadura sem Deus que transformou o mundo contra si mesmo. Há homens de palha e caricaturas em todos os lugares e as raças alienígenas ajudar exacerbar este fato , onde os personagens tem dentes como presas- um pouco antes o protagonista é visitado por um anjo bêbê alienígena. Abortado
Mas artisticamente, é um olhar interessante para Lews, com um estilo aparentemente afetado pelos gostos de Neal Adams e Alan Davis via Joe Madueria, criando figuras muito agradável super-heróis alienígenas, embora um pouco didático.
