These days it's not easy for a band to be unique and to stand out from the crowd. VAN CANTO however do just that! The innovative concept of playing heavy metal exclusively with five singers and one drummer has gained them a dedicated and rapidly-growing following. The history of this German band has been eventful to say the least. Their self-produced debut album "A Storm To Come" (2006) received euphoric praise at home and abroad. VAN CANTO played many concerts, including a number of shows with NIGHTWISH and a performance at the renowned German Wacken Open Air Festival. During a trip to South America in summer 2008, the band experienced their rise in popularity first-hand. The band became an even tighter unit when GUN Records signed them and re-released "A Storm To Come" in December 2007. o agent orange . Recentemente lançaram novamente pela SPV como disco duplo de luxo edição com faixas bonus a gravação tornou o trio uma das melhores bandas da cena de trash metal. Se juntou a eles o ex- guitarrista do Kreator Jhon Blackfire que se casou com uma Brasileira da banda Volkanas na epoca que o Kreator fez tour pelo Brasil e junto com o Baterista Cris Witchunter e o vocalista e baixista Tom angelripper gravaram varios discos como PERCUSSION MANIA e agora estão de volta com este relançamento

Porque voce acha que o Agent Orange fez tanto sucessso?

Tom Angelripper Lembro-me que tinha sido em turnê naquele momento e nós temos telefonema de nossa marca. Eles nos informaram sobre a entrada do gráfico. Ficamos surpresos, porque entrou nas paradas como a primeira banda de metal de sempre! Isso foi incrível. Agora temos o respeito que merecemos, mas nós não fizemos a música para qualquer rótulos ou a indústria da música, nós fizemo-lo para os fãs. Agent Orange também mudou a minha vida de uma maneira importante. Esse foi o álbum certo, na hora certa e tem um álbum bem vendido. A partir desse momento deixei o meu emprego na mina de carvão, onde eu tinha desde 1979. Meu sonho se realizou a viver apenas da música e passei toda a minha vida para passear e ensaiar com a banda

O que acha do album hoje

Ela representa o espírito dos anos 80 finais. Mas não é o meu álbum favorito Sodoma. Cada álbum marca um novo passo em nossa carreira e da história. Também gostamos de tocar algumas dessas músicas no set list atual. A faixa título é um verdadeiro clássico.

Voce é fascinado pelo assunto de ligados ao vietnã como estas estoria o influenciaram nas letras

Eu tenho sido sempre interessado na história e eu tento descrever as coisas ruins no mundo, sem qualquer opinião política ou de mensagem. Eu sei que nós não podemos mudar o mundo, mas para ser um cantor de uma banda de thrash me dá a oportunidade de gritar para fora. Vietnam é apenas simbólico para todas as guerras no mundo

O que voce guarda na memória durante a gravação do album

Eu me lembro que havia uma cerveja crise pessoal entre o Frank e Chris. Durante os dias do passado que não teve qualquer conversa, porque Frank estava puto com Witchhunter `s atitudes. É possível que ele teve a oportunidade de participar Kreator, neste momento, mas queria terminar a produção. Nesse ambiente ruim, nós temos bebido todos os dias para chegar ao mesmo nível. Harris [Johns, produtor] foi muito desapontado com a situação, mas ele sempre nos empurrou para trazê-lo até o fim, mas os problemas ficaram tão grande e nossa raiva descarregada, destruindo todo o equipamento de hotel.
